Game Element 4 - Non-Combat Situations and Solutions

Using the additional research I did, I wanted to add solutions and situations that weren't specifically or mainly all out combat related. The reason for this was create a more unpredictable and strategic experience for the player.

Using the game, Phantom Doctrine and aspects from X-COM 1's DLC Enemy Within, I came up with the idea to create missions and activities in which the player can use stealth, espionage and investigation to be able to gain an upper hand or opportunity against the enemy, who will also be able to use similar strategies against the player as well, to further increase the feel that the enemy is actively fighting back, instead of just reacting or attacking.

While solidify this element of the game, I tried to ensure that it wasn't essentially but it would be seen as beneficial because I didn't want to make the game loop too busy or full, meaning that the player is able to choose when to use these strategies.
